          | Release Date: | June 27th 2003 | Studio:
            Columbia Pictures |
          | Synopsis: | The Angels are ready to strike without warning and kick
some serious butt as they go undercover to retrieve two missing silver
bands. These are no ordinary wedding rings. They contain valuable
encrypted information that reveals the new identities of every person
in the federal Witness Protection Program. When witnesses start to
turn up dead, only the Angels can stop the perpetrator, using their
expertise as masters of disguise, espionage and martial arts. Good
morning, Angels. Get ready to raise hell. |
          | Release Date: | June 27th 2003 | Distributor: Columbia
            Pictures (Sony) |
          | Release Date Notes: | (1/14/02) Sony's positioning this hot sequel squarely
against Universal's The Hulk... clearly, these two big ticket projects
are *not* going to open against each other, but for now, it's fun
to watch the parrying, as two studios race against each other's hype
and production schedules for the "prize" of this date, which
could give the winner two prime summer weekends leading up to the
4th of July holiday: ka-ching. (4/18/02) Sure enough, Sony has flinched,
moving this back a week from 6/20/03 to 6/27/03. |
          | MPAA Rating: | Nothing's official until the MPAA sees the final cut,
but this is likely to get a PG-13 like the first film. |
          | Title Note: | (11/25/01) Dark Horizons reported this week that the
subtitle may be 'Halo' (with absolutely nothing to do with the recent
XBox game). (1/27/02) The 'Halo' title has been confirmed by E! Online.
(10/5/02) The subtitle has been changed to 'Full Throttle.' (10/24/02)
Sony is not using a "2" in the title... it's just "Charlie's
Angels: Full Throttle", not "Charlie's Angels 2: Full Throttle." |
          | |
          | Production Company: | Flower Films (Never Been Kissed, Donnie Darko, Riding
in Cars with Boys) (Drew's company), Mandy Films (producer Leonard
Goldberg; Wonder Woman is also in development) |
          | Cast Notes: | (6/27/01) None of the three Angels seen in the first
film (Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu) have signed on yet
(none of them had sequel clauses in their contracts). Although Sony
is trying to get all three to return, it's very possible (in the spirit
of the TV show which saw Angels coming and going all the time), new
actresses could replace whomever doesn't return. Heck, Sony could
just as easily bring *three* new actresses on board. It's also unknown
if Bill Murray would return as Bosley. John Forsythe as Charlie's
voice is probably the only definite return, presuming he's in fine
health. Expect the casting process, like it did the first time, to
run long. (8/16/01) There are now rumors that Barrymore may leave
            too.
(1/27/02) The three stars have signed on, but Bill Murray will definitely
not return as Bosley. Tom Green also won't be returning (for obvious
reasons) as "The Chad". (6/5/02) Jamie Foxx had been announced
as being cast to play Bosley's son, and his replacement, but Variety
reports now that Bernie Mac has been cast in that role instead. Foxx
has a pretty hefty schedule, and so it's likely that he had to drop
out to work on something else instead.

(7/22/02) Justin Theroux, costar of Mulholland
Drive, has joined the cast to play Drew's ex-boyfriend. (8/8/02)
Demi Moore has signed on to make this her first studio film since
            1997's G.I.
Jane, playing a "fallen Angel" who left Charlie's employment
to become an evil agent. (8/13/02) A detailed report sent to Corona
provides more cast and character names. (8/20/02) The script was apparently
rewritten a bit following the casting of Bernie Mac to make up for
the age difference between him and Foxx, as the character has been
changed from being Bosley's son to being Bosley's brother. (8/29/02)
            The Daily
Llama Monty Python fan site reports that John Cleese has signed
on to play Lucy Liu's father. Also, "Entertainment Tonight"
reported this week that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will have cameo
            roles.

Rumored Cast: (7/4/01) Garcelle Beauvais gets the honor of being the
first rumored new Angel... will she be the last? She's nearly unknown
now, but is starring in Bad
Company with Chris Rock and Anthony Hopkins. (1/27/02) The confirmation
that all three original stars have signed on pretty much puts the
            lid on "replacement" rumors.
 |
          | Cameos: | (6/27/01) Although it didn't work out the first time
around, it's possible some of the original TV cast (Farrah Fawcett,
Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith, etc.) may have cameos here. (3/29/02)
Entertainment Weekly confirms that McG is hoping at least some of
them will be participating. (8/8/02) "The Hollywood Reporter"
has confirmed that Jaclyn Smith, at least, has signed on for an unspecified
            role. |
          | Music Note: | (9/17/02) Pop singer, Pink, will appear in the film
during a motocross sequence, and sing the title song (I'm guessing
            it's called "Halo"). |
          | Screenwriter: | John
August (Go; cowriter of Charlie's Angels, Titan A.E.; also in
the works are Scooby-Doo and Big Fish) |
          | Based Upon: | This is the sequel to the 2000 hit movie, Charlie's
Angels, which grossed over $125 million at the box office, which was
itself based on the hit 1970's ABC detective TV show. |
          | Premise: | The "Angels", three investigative agents (Barrymore,
Diaz and Liu) who work for the Charles Townsend Detective Agency,
return for another high-octane series of adventures as they investigate
the theft of a database of witness protection profiles, after five
of the people on the list are murdered. They're aided by a new Bosley
(Bernie Mac), in an adventure which pits them against a "fallen
angel" (Moore), their old nemesis, the Thin Man (Glover), and
            others. |
          | Premise Notes: | (6/27/01) No details have been announced yet (6/27/01)
about what the Angels investigate this second time around. Expect
more out-of-this-world action scenes and tongue-in-cheek takes on
the genre in general... and bikini's, midriffs, and tight pants. McG
            told Ultimate
DVD that the plan is for more elaborate action sequences, and
not just martial arts (in that Matrix-ish
vein). (3/29/02) If the script review at LatinoReview.com
is accurate, the premise involves a database of the witness protection
program, which has been stolen, leading to five of the witnesses on
the list being killed... and the Angels are called in to find it.
(7/8/02) One of the witnesses has a 15-year-old son named Max who's
a Motocross champion. (7/19/02) Columnists Marilyn Beck and Stacy
Jenel Smith report that one of the groups the Angels have to go up
against is the "O'Grady clan", an Irish mob. (7/22/02) Justin
Theroux plays Drew's ex-boyfriend. (8/1/02) Robert Patrick has joined
the cast as a Navy Seal-turned-U.S. Marshal. (8/8/02) Demi Moore plays
a "fallen Angel" who left Charlie's agency to become an
            evil agent. |
          | Filming: | Production started on June 3rd, 2002 at locations and
sets throughout California and the Los Angeles area, including the
Hansen Dam. (11/11/02) Filming wrapped up in late October, 2002. |
