A seasoned profession who has successfully performed
thousands of procedures on trusting patients seeking to improve their appearance,
correct defects or improve function, Dr. Onyewu has emerged on
the medical scene as one of the nation’s premier plastic
surgeons.
Born in Washington D.C., Dr. Onyewu has a diverse educational background
that correlates well with the diverse patient base that he has
amassed over the years. After completing much of his primary education
in upstate New York, he completed his high school training in Nigeria.
From there, he entered Boston University as a Commonwealth Scholar
and graduated from the university’s School of Medicine in
1990. Returning to his city of birth, Dr. Onyewu later completed
his general surgery training at Howard University Hospital under
the guiding eye of the renowned Dr. LaSalle Leffall.
During his tenure at Howard University, Dr. Onyewu twice earned
the Chairman’s Award; first as Intern of the Year and later
as Chief Resident of the Year. To complete his quest to master
his medical discipline, he trained under the tutelage of the well
respected Dr. Scott Spear as a plastic surgery fellow at Georgetown
University Hospital, also in Washington, D.C.
Recognized for his talent as a surgeon and commitment to excellence
in patient care, Dr Onyewu was named a diplomat of the American
Board of Surgery in 1997. In recent years, he has built a reputation
as a respected researcher. This expertise is evidenced by his intriguing
research on the effects of radiation on breast reconstruction using
saline implants, which led to results being published in the Plastic
and Reconstructive Surgery medical journal in March 2000.
Dr. Onyewu specializes in surgery of the breast, reconstruction,
augmentation, breast lifts and body sculpturing using liposuction.
He also has performed many successful procedures to remove Keloid
scars.
With nearly 6.9 million cosmetic surgical and nonsurgical procedures
performed in the United States in 2002 — according to statistics
collected by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
(ASAPS) — Dr. Onyewu realizes that his field of medicine
is rapidly gaining popularity.

Terrence Fullum,

A respected physician, researcher and educator,
Dr. Terrence M. Fullum, MD, FACS, is a national
leader in advanced laparoscopic and Bariatric surgery.
A graduate degree of Pennsylvania State University,
Dr. Fullum completed his medical degree and general
surgery residency at Howard University and its
hospital in Washington, DC.
His advanced training
in laparoscopic surgery was provided by Dr. James “Butch” Rosser — one
of the nation’s pre-eminent laparoscopic
pioneers and director of laparoendoscopic surgery
at the Yale University School of Medicine in New
Haven, CT. He completed more advanced training
preceptorship in laparoscopic bariatric surgery
under Dr. Gary Harrington, of Commonwealth Surgeons,
Ltd., in Richmond, VA.
An associate professor of surgery at Howard University
College of Medicine, Dr. Fullum holds several academic
and professional positions, including chairman
of Howard University’s department of surgery.
His leadership in the bariatric surgery field is
evidenced by appointments as fellow and director
of related programs and departments at Providence
Hospital in Washington, DC, and the Washington
Adventist Hospital.
Dr. Fullum teaches advanced laparoscopic surgery
nationally and internationally. Since 1994, he
has trained thousands of doctors in the newest,
most current techniques. He also conducts clinical
research and has numerous abstracts, publications,
and presentations to his credit. Dr. Fullum also
conducts community seminars throughout the Washington,
DC metropolitan area.
In an effort to raise awareness of the benefits
of laparoscopic surgery, he founded the Safer Surgery
Foundation (

Ms. Trina McIntosh,
Certified Medical Esthetician
Has extensive aesthetic experience in all facets related to dermatology
skin care. Ms. McIntosh graduated with from the Yvonne DeVilar
Scientific School of Skin Care, In Vienna, Va. and subsequently
became licensed as an Esthetician. Ms. McIntosh acquired her post
graduate degree from the International Dermal Institute. Ms. McIntosh
has received her certification in Advanced Skin Care, Speed Waxing,
Chemical Peels and Microdermabrasion
Ms. Nmaku Onyewu,
Certified Massage Therapist
Nmaku Onyewu is a Nationally Board Certified Massage Therapist.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from
the College of Health and Human Performance at the University of
Maryland College Park and received her post-graduate training as
a Certified Massage Therapist from Potomac Massage Training Institute
in Washington, DC. She is trained in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot
Stone, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Maternity, Stretching
Exercises and Sports Massage. She is a member of the American Massage
Therapy Association (AMTA); the National Certification Board for
Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB); American Medical Massage
Therapy Association (AMMTA) and Associated Bodywork and Massage
Professionals (ABMP).
